What is Hemp?

Hemp is a variety of the Cannabis sativa plant species that is grown specifically for industrial and medicinal uses. Unlike its cousin marijuana, hemp is characterized by its low concentration of THC (the psychoactive compound that causes a "high"). The hemp plant provides distinct benefits: CBD oil for mental and emotional wellness, and hemp seeds for physical nutrition.

Hemp components offer targeted health benefits:

  • CBD Oil: Supports mental and emotional wellness.
  • Hemp Seeds: A nutritional powerhouse for physical health.

Key facts about hemp

  • Low THC: By legal definition in many places, including the U.S., hemp must contain 0.3% THC or less by dry weight. This means it cannot produce intoxicating effects.
  • High CBD: It is naturally rich in cannabidiol (CBD), a non-intoxicating compound celebrated for its potential therapeutic benefits, such as relieving pain and reducing anxiety.
  • Incredibly Versatile: Nearly every part of the plant can be used:
    • Seeds & Oil: Are highly nutritious, rich in protein, omega fatty acids, and vitamins.
    • Stalk: Used to make strong fibers for textiles (cloth, rope), building materials (hempcrete), and paper.
    • Flowers: Are the primary source for extracting CBD oil and other cannabinoids.

Hemp is a non-intoxicating cannabis plant prized for its fiber, seeds, and CBD content, making it valuable for a vast range of products for health supplements
